About Us

Steve Hammond, President of Hammond Educational Consulting, Inc. is a lifelong K12 educator who has served as a teacher, coach, department head, principal/head of school in elementary, middle, and high schools, president, and superintendent of schools in his career. He has assisted school boards in the creation of six schools. Steve serves on the faculty at the William Glasser Institute for Choice Theory where he lectures, and provides training and workshops.

Steve’s professional mission is to assist all K12 educational communities in empowering students within a non-coercive environment to attain their highest potential through an intentional, thoughtful process called the Intentional, Total Formation of Youth. Fulfilling his professional life’s mission, Steve has created an educational design called Intentional Total Formation(c) (ITF) built upon an introspective process where students reflect upon a set of beliefs, knowledge, virtues, attitudes, and skills fundamental to the total formation of a human being. The premise behind the design is the development of a strong belief system will ultimately express itself in students’ behavior. This non-coercive, reflective process allows students to choose whether or not they wish to adopt the precepts. After implementing the ITF process for over 25 years, Steve has witnessed the program’s empowering and dramatically positive impact on the lives of children and youth.

Steve delights in providing entertaining and motivational speeches to all school constituencies often interlaced with guitar-playing and songs.
